Energy improvements in Perú
The energy in the Peruvian poorest and most remote places is to see an electric generator and a container filled with liquid fuel. It is so weird and hard to find a solar panel in poor places, harsh environments, and geographically inaccessible places but always a fuel generator. There are politics for implementing new energy alternatives, and they are being developed more in the coastal part of the country, however, on the eastern side, there are not still developments carried out. For instance, in Madre De Dios region, solar panels can be found just in tourist lodges because in this region exists a very important sustainable tourism activity but not in homes. In Ucayali, for example, I could not see any or perhaps I did not have the opportunity to visit a place with one installed in large quantities at least in the jungle it is still hard to see. On the other hand, in Arequipa region, with the highest radiation level and more instructed population, it can be easily found thermic solar panels on the roof of almost every house, it is something amazing to see.
It is challenging to distribute fuels in the jungle of Perú, the logistics rise the transport fuel cost. By now Perú does not have isolated systems or smart renewable energy systems for electricity supply. Instead, there are systems integrated into the national electricity grid with plenty of places with no supply from the grid. Something that is clear, is that remote places should not necessarily be inserted in the electricity grid, at least if there is not a project of urbanization to consider the place a future part of a city.
Nevertheless, there are efforts for transforming the energy matrix and for sure we are in a transition stage. According to the information published by Peruvian Fiscaliation Organism "Osinergmin" (Organismo Supervisor de la Inversión en Energía y Minería) there is a total of nineteen new unconventional plants currently in service for electricity production with a total installed capacity of 366.75 MW and according to the type of renewable resource is distributed as follows:
